It’s been a fantastic night under the Wembley arch for Alex Windsor and Jamie Hayter, as The Brawling Birds overcame The Divine Dominion to leave with AEW gold.

Having cut their teeth and made their home on the British wrestling independent scene, both competitors made their name on our shores. Both have held the RevPro Undisputed British Women’s Championship, as well as both being significant parts and title holders in Pro Wrestling EVE.

Jamie Hayter has established herself in AEW over the last few years and even had a spell as Women’s Championship, although some of her time in the company has been curtailed through injury – although last time AEW were at Wembley Stadium she made a dramatic return.

As for ‘Iron Willed’ Alex Windsor, she joined the company last year, won her RevPro belt while the company were touring the UK, and eventually then settled in to a tag team run with Hayter. She’s also picked up more singles gold, winning the NJPW Strong Women’s Championship.

Since February they’ve been on a massive winning streak, including picking up victories over the likes of The Iinspiration and The Sisters Of Sin, which shot them to the top of the ranks for a shot against the undefeated Divine Dominion, Megan Bayne and Lena Kross.

With the home country support, The Brawling Birds managed to get the three count on Kross and leave Wembley as the new AEW Women’s Tag Team Champions.

Congratulations, and we can’t wait to see who challenges first!
