AEW star Kris Statlander once again heads to London next Friday as she defends her Pro Wrestling EVE International Championship against a top Japanese star.
Since defeating Anita Vaughan for the gold in July 2025, Kris Statlander has proven to be a dominant title holder including successful defences against the likes of Nina Samuels, Alex Windsor, Yuu, Vaughan and most recently Charlie, who was known as Dakota Kai in WWE and was making her return to independent wrestling at Wrestle Queendom.
This shows she has continued to be a fighting champion and made the trip to the United Kingdom plenty of times to defend the gold, even in the middle of a run as AEW Women’s World Champion. However, at the next Pro Wrestling EVE event it’ll be one of her toughest challenges to date.
Japanese sensation Miya Yamashita is known as one of the toughest wrestlers in the world, and her record in EVE this year so far has been an impressive one considering the calibre of opponents she’s been facing.
Back in March she fought to a time limit draw against Jamie Hayter, and was an early entrant in the Sudden Death 16 match at Queendom – coincidently once against squaring off with Hayter. She then competed twice in one night to earn this opportunity at Statlander, besting both Aliss Ink and Shoko Nakajima.
The match will take place at Pro Wrestling EVE’s 150th event: History Makers, Rule Breakers where the full card currently stands at:
- EVE International Championship: Kris Statlander (c) vs. Miyu Yamashita
- EVE Championship: Session Moth Martina (c) vs. Alexxis Falcon
- EVE Tag Team Championships: LALLIE (c) vs. French Art
- Molly Spartan vs. ‘a returning former WWE title holder’
- Rhio vs. Aliss Ink
- Melissa Fierce vs. Lucy Sky vs. Emersyn Jayne
- Relentless All-Stars vs. NYTE/SKYE
The event takes place at Big Penny Social in London on Friday, 5th June. Doors open for the event at 7.30pm with first bell at 8pm. Tickets are priced at £34 for remaining seating and £25 for standing, and are available now.
