RESULTS: PROGRESS Wrestling Chapter 189: In Darkest Night

A huge title change and two matches in the first-ever women’s Super Strong Style tournament took place at PROGRESS Wrestling’s latest event.

The evening was headlined by Rayne Leverkusen, who had been a dominant title holder since storming the promotion in 2025, putting the gold on the line against someone who long overdue another shot at it, Alexxis Falcon.

As you’d expect, both ladies left it all in the ring, with some huge moments including Falcon looking like she might get counted out after a huge move on the apron.

It also looked like the match would take a turn when Falcon connected with Off With Her Head, but the referee had been knocked from the ring just before. The pause in action allowed for Leverkusen to connect with Thunderstruck, but between how much had been taken out of her and the referee returning to the ring, it was only enough for a two count.

In the end the crowd erupted when Falcon hit her finisher a second time to become the new PROGRESS Wrestling Women’s Champion.

Earlier in the night, The Experience and Hyperactive faced off in Super Strong Style, firstly with Anita Vaughan taking on Skye Smitson. This was a very backwards and forewards match, and as the contest came to a close both women got a number of successful pin attempts – however it was Smitson who was able to tighten a cover to get the three.

At this point we were expecting the other half of each team to face off, however Safire Reed confirmed that she had not been medically cleared to compete, and offered LA Taylor a bye to the next round.

This brought Martina to the ring, who made it clear she wasn’t going to let that happen and stepped in to the tournament herself – although she expected a bit more help than she got from her family.

The power of LA Taylor was on display throughout the match, with Martina often looking to take shortcuts even if the rest of her team weren’t helping.

In the end she grabbed the beer can, however Safire Reed returned to ringside to take it away, opening up for Taylor to hit huge spinning powerbomb to get the victory.

PROGRESS Wrestling return to the Electric Ballroom in Camden, London on Sunday 15th February for In Brightest Day. Tickets for the show are available now.
